With the advancement of society, economy and science and technology, mathematics itself has achieved unprecedented development. In order to adapt to the development of modern mathematics, primary and secondary mathematics courses need to extensively listen to the opinions of mathematicians concerned with mathematics education reform. Therefore, entrusted by the Expert Working Group of the Basic Education Curriculum Reform of the Ministry of Education, “Modern Mathematics and Its Matches” was held in Beijing on January 5, 1999 and June 24-26.
