通过对呼和坳陷第四系及新近系上新统的沉积相、产气状况及气源条件研究,证实了生物气的存在,认为河套盆地呼和坳陷第四系具有浅层生物气形成的基本地质条件,气源岩厚度大,有机碳含量为0.49%,有机质类型以混合型、腐殖型为主,少量腐泥型,有机质未成熟,目前正处于生物化学生气阶段。同时,还探讨了影响生烃能力的环境因素,认为呼和坳陷地球化学环境良好,具有生物气富集成藏的物质基础和较大规模的生气能力。
