Canadian Northern Telecom claims to have established a joint venture with China Communications Construction Corporation (CITCC) and Xi’an Institute of Posts and Telecommunications (XY), which are affiliated with the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications of China (MPT). The new joint venture, PTT, Northern Telecom Technology (PNT), will provide high-tech and continuous network support services that will further expand China’s digital communications network after the 1990s and 1990s. PNT’s headquarters will be located in Beijing. PNT’s total investment is 6.25 million U.S. dollars, including CITCC’s investment of 1.15 million U.S. dollars, XY’s investment of 1.35 million U.S. dollars, and investments by Northern Telecom Corporation.
