刚从意大利回来就赶去我的出生地——杭州,除了一些工作上的业务外,更重要的是应邀参观《’98中国当代青年陶艺家作品双年展》.但由于日程理解的错误,以致我虽然到了杭州,却去逛街,而没去参加开幕式.但仍有足够的两天时间与参展人士及陶艺家切磋.由于编《陶艺家通讯》,许多参展陶艺家已在书信及电话中捻熟,这次见面倒是一网打尽,与南方的陶艺家们更拉近了一层关系.这批陶艺家大都是三四十的年龄,他们是目前国内陶艺创作的骨干和活跃力量,均毕业于专业院校.而且部分陶艺家在产区或在陶土中摸爬滚打了近十年,传统内涵和技能掌握都不错,思想观念也相对成熟.这是他们给我的总体印象.我虽然漏了第一天的讨论会,但在第二天的讨论会上,对传统与现代的看法及一些实践的领会是很深刻的.尤其是讨论会是在我参观了展览后才参与.因此在讨论时,我总是会想到展出的作品,所以我先来谈谈这次展出的作品.是刘正陪我看展览的,我告诉他这是我第一次在中国看到如此完整、够水平、有代表性的陶艺展览,展出环境、作品的置放以及与展厅建
