March 3, 2016, Tsinghua University joint Sinopec Zhongyuan Petroleum Engineering Co., Ltd. developed China’s first MW-scale flywheel energy storage power engineering prototype in Lankao County, Henan Province, the oil base flywheel assembly plant testing by a third party to charge and discharge cycle efficiency 86% ~ 88%, the maximum generating power of 1 088 kW.
