有的同志否定解放生产力，发展生产力和公有制是社会主义本质。小平同志把解放生产力、发展生产力规定为社会主义本质。这既体现了人类社会发展的普遍规律，又深刻而科学地揭示了社会主义特有的本质属性。在小平同志关于社会主义本质的论断中，也包括公有制。把公有制作为社会主义本质是小平同志的一贯思想。
Some comrades denied that liberating the productive forces and developing productive forces and public ownership are the essence of socialism. This not only embodies the universal laws governing the development of human society, but also profoundly and scientifically reveals the peculiar essential attributes of socialism.
