The aging and related phenomena of Al-10% Mg cast alloys at room temperature and below 150 ° C were investigated by tensile testing and metallographic examination up to 6 years old. In alloys containing more than 10.27% Mg, their strength is slowly but continuously increased for at least 5 years at room temperature. However, at 50 ° C or above, age hardening did not occur, but precipitation occurred; first, precipitation occurred at the grain boundaries, with no change in properties; and then precipitated in the grains as W-shaped bodies and then quickly became brittle. After aging at room temperature above 50 ℃ in the regression phenomenon. This paper discusses these results based on the modern research of Al-Mg alloys and the modern theory of aging.
