1997年6月10日,在香港回归前夕,向香港供水32周年纪念报告会在北京人民大会堂隆重举行。报告会由水利部和广东省政府联合举办,中共中央政治局委员、书记处书记、国务院副总理姜春云受李鹏总理的委托,代表国务院到会祝贺并做了重要的讲话。这次会议旨在缅怀周恩来总理等老一辈革命家决策兴建向香港供水工程,促进香港繁荣稳定的历史功绩,表彰向香港供水中的先进集体和先进个人。
On June 10, 1997, on the eve of the return of Hong Kong, the 32nd anniversary commemoration of water supply to Hong Kong was held ceremoniously in Beijing’s Great Hall of the People. The report was jointly organized by the Ministry of Water Resources and the Guangdong Provincial Government. Jiang Chunyun, member of the CPC Central Committee Political Bureau and secretary of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, and Premier of the State Council, was entrusted by Premier Li Peng to deliver a speech on behalf of the State Council and delivered an important speech here. The meeting aims to cherish the memory of the historical achievements made by Premier Zhou Enlai and other older revolutionaries in making decisions on the construction of water supply projects in Hong Kong and promoting Hong Kong’s prosperity and stability, as well as the advanced collectives and advanced individuals in supplying water to Hong Kong.
