在人物肖像描写中,眼睛的描写起着非常重要的作用,所谓“传神写照,正在阿堵中”。《红楼梦》是我国古典小说发展的顶峰,被誉为“千古奇文”,而其主要人物林黛玉这个形象更是曹雪芹毕生心血凝铸而成。可惜,《红楼梦》原稿的破损、残缺与迷失,使我们无从得睹原貌,遂成千古遗恨。书中对林黛玉眼睛的描写的残缺就是这一巨大损失中的一个。 通行本第三回中,林黛玉第一次出场时,我们对林黛玉眼睛的印象是从贾宝玉的观察中得来的:“一双似喜非喜含情目”。然而,我们知道,这并非曹雪芹原著,而是后人妄笔,林冠夫先生在《传神阿堵》一文中对此有详论,这里不必多言,只有一点要补充。
