菲律宾国际水稻研究所新近建成一座面积为400平方米的温室(见下图)。这个温室不同于普通温室,是为栽培转基因水稻而设计的,该温室具有抗震、抗台风和防火等功能。 基因转移一旦成功,为保证基因的稳定和有效,转基因水稻植株就需要在特殊封闭环境条件下生长、测试。 该温室共有8间,每间都有独立的空气开关和洗手间。从第一间到第五间温室可供转基因水稻植株在无病菌条件下生长几代;而在第六间到第八间,使转基因植株经受当地田间发现的昆虫和病菌侵染,以测定其对典型环境条件的抵抗
The International Rice Research Institute of the Philippines recently built an area of 400 square meters of greenhouse (see below). This greenhouse is different from the ordinary greenhouse, is designed for the cultivation of genetically modified rice, the greenhouse with earthquake, typhoon and fire and other functions.
