In the context of exploring the cultivation of compound foreign language talents, the emergence of legal English courses for English majors has its historical inevitability. The knowledge reserve of students, the professional development of teachers and the tradition of jurisprudence of English and American legal systems have guaranteed the feasibility of curricula. The legal culture, legal specialty and the relationship between law and language determine the necessity of curricula. The combination of legal expertise and English language skills can cultivate students’ intercultural communicative competence in legal English teaching practice.
