佛冈县地处广东省中部偏北(韶关地区南部)丘陵地区(东经113度32分,北纬23度52分)。气候温和,雨量充沛,年平均气温20.8度,年雨量达2225毫米。全县20.6万人口,耕地20.8万多亩。水田18万多亩,每人平均仅得9分田。农业生产以水稻为主。无产阶级文化大革命以来,在毛主席革命路线指引下,县委认真贯彻“以粮为纲,全面发展”的方针,总结过去发展经济作物生产的经验教训,因地制宜,有计划地发展了茶叶生产。自一九七一年冬开始至一九七五年春,发展了集体茶园5439亩。(其中公社、大队、生产队三级联营办场4311亩,占全县茶园总面积的79%,其余是大队生产队两级或一级办场)。在发展一批巩固
