The World Health Organization-World Survey on Mental Health Program and Harvard University recently conducted a survey of 84850 adults in 17 countries including the United States, China, Japan, France, Germany and South Africa. The results showed that 9.2% of respondents had the idea of committing suicide. 2.7% of respondents had committed suicide attempts.
