2009年6月16日,科技部召开了建国以来首次《全国野外科技工作会议》,国务委员刘延东到会祝贺并做重要讲话。科技部部长万刚、副部长李学勇、张来武以及国家发展和改革委员会、教育部、科学技术部、财政部、国土资源部、环境保护部、水利部、农业部、国务院国有资产监督管理委员会、国家林业局、中国科学院、中国工程院、中国地震局、中国气象局、国家自然科学基金委员会、国家国防科技工业局、国家海洋局、国家测绘局、中国科学技术协会等部门和地方科技厅(委、局)的领导、科技管理部门和野外科学家代表到会。
