桦甸自然资源较为丰富,具有发展特色经济雄厚的物质基础。以优势资源为依托,桦甸市委、市政府提出了“在全省率先发展、率先突破、率先建成山水生态中等城市”的奋斗目标,举全市之力狠抓项目建设,发展特色产业,打造循环经济,初步形成了以能源、矿产、长白山特色食品三个产业为主导和以加工制造、建材两个较具发展潜力的产业为补充的特色产业格局,构筑起对县域经济的强势支持。
