氮素也许是土壤肥力因素中最重要的一个因素。就土壤—植物—水份—大气系统而言,氮素循环的途径是: 进路(氮从外界进入土壤)——施入的氮素,灌溉水及畜产、工厂、城市废弃物中的氮素,蓝藻等的生物固定氮素,雨雪中的氮素以及生物残体分解还原生成的氮素等等。出路(氮从土壤中逸失)——水稻吸收,灌溉水排出及淋失,氨的挥发,脱氮作用等。
