In this paper, we derive a general formula for calculating the ambiguity function of radar signals, which can be used to calculate complex signals with multiple periodic repetitions and multiple modulations for any single “unit signal”. Combined with the actual conditions, this paper derives the engineering calculation relation when the unit signal is “rectangular envelope sub-pulse”. They are suitable for a wide range of applications, for example, a single rectangular pulse or multiple coherent bursts, chirp in the pulse duration, frequency and phase encoding modulation of adjacent rectangular sub-pulses, inter-pulse frequency hopping and repetition period juxtaposition, and complex amplitude Weight and other commonly used signals; can also be used for the repeated signal linear modulation, frequency and phase modulation of the continuous modulation signal. In another article, the author presents the block diagram used to calculate ambiguity functions and all the programs and examples written in ALGOL.
