The project is an international design competition for prevention and education centers (natural disaster research and information), located between downtown Istanbul and Ataturk International Airport. The center includes a wide range of experience-based natural disaster simulators such as earthquakes, forest fires and landslides. This project provides a great opportunity to explore and practice landscape architecture. We designed the center as a hovering parallel plate, resting on the ground with four fulcrums: in addition to an Atlas sculpture that knelt as well as two double columns for vertical support, there was also a full-color staircase as a main entrance. The staircase leads to an open, travertine decorated lobby with managed office areas and activity experience areas on each side. Tour flow through the different
