Two new saponins,3 O {〔β D glucopyranosyl (1→2)〕 〔β D glucopyranosyl (1→3) β D glucopyranosyl (1→3)〕 β D glucopyranosyl} oleanolic acid 28 O β D glucopyranosyl ester,(congmunoside Ⅹ,1);3 O {〔β D glucopyranosyl (1→3)〕 〔α L arabinofuranosyl (1→4)〕 β D glucuronopyranosyl} oleanolic acid 28 O β D glucopyranosyl (1→6) β D glucopyranoside,(congmunoside Ⅺ,2)were isolated from the root bark of Aralia elata (Miq.)Seem.Their structures were determined on the basis of the chemical and spectroscopy methods.
