He is the leader of the post-war design community in the United States. One of the most influential designers of the 20th century, his close friends Eames, Eros Saarinen, George Nelson and others are all famous architects and designers. His extraordinary creativity in color, texture, and patterns has greatly enriched the modernist visual language of the mid-20th century, bringing endless inspiration to later artists and designers. Girard grew up in Florence, Italy. His father has a French and Italian background and his mother comes from
