岩石学者要获得薄片中特殊晶体的折射率(n)就需从薄片中取出矿物颗粒或将矿物从岩石标本中分离出来。前者十分麻烦,后者又很难使分离出的矿物与薄片中要测的特定颗粒相同。本文描述和评价的色散法提供了在岩石薄片中快速测定选定矿物折射率的技术。
To obtain the refractive index (n) of a particular crystal in a sheet, a rock scholar needs to remove the mineral particles from the sheet or separate the mineral from the rock specimen. The former is very troublesome, the latter is very difficult to make the separation of minerals and flakes to be measured in the same specific particles. The chromatic dispersion method described and evaluated herein provides a technique for rapidly determining the refractive index of selected minerals in rock slices.
