In order to accommodate the requirements of die-casting molds involving more complex molds, large castings, thin-wall thicknesses and the like, it is of utmost importance to control or minimize dimensional changes during heat treatment to a minimum. Moreover, in use, die-casting molds for high pressure die casting, due to heat cycles and high loads imposed by the molten metal, can seriously affect their size.
