在文化价值取向日趋多元化的今天,收藏和保护当地传统特色文化越来越为有识之士所重视。所谓传统特色文化,是指某个国家或某个地区传统文化中那些不断传承和发展的最具独特地方色彩和风格的文化成份,这是当地别于其它地区的个性所在。它包括工艺、演艺和技艺等等。这些传统特色文化,以其悠远的历史、独特的个性、精堪的技艺而独具魅力,它是当地“艺人”、“工匠’们千百年来智慧的结晶,也是当地人文文化的产物,所以它们能充分展现当地风土人情与人文文化及经济发展状况,也能反映一个地区的社会发展水平。从此意义上来说它就是当地风土人情档案,就是当地独特工艺的档案,就是当地独特文化活动的档案。
