Xiamen Jiabao Real Estate Co., Ltd. was established in October 1984 after the approval of the original Xiamen Special Economic Zone Management Committee. With a registered capital of RMB 10 million, it is the first Sino-foreign joint venture in Xiamen’s business housing industry. However, due to the fact that there were no regulations based on the market economy, seven blocks of 144 commercial houses were built in the first three years and only three sets were sold in three years.
