西尔维娅·普拉斯是美国20世纪60年代自白派诗人的代表,她与艾米莉·迪金森和伊丽莎白·毕肖普并称为美国近代文学史上三位最重要的女诗人。长期以来研究普拉斯诗歌的国内外学者都过于看重她与诗坛情侣英国诗人特德·休斯在诗歌内涵上的互文关系,却很少有人关注她与英国作家劳伦斯的诗歌渊源。事实上,劳伦斯的小说和诗歌对普拉斯诗歌创作的影响不仅体现在诗歌意象群布置和象征主义观点的运用上,还表现在诗歌主题选择与诗歌语言的文字编排等方面。主要从劳伦斯与普拉斯作品主题互文视角探索两者的诗歌渊源,对死亡意象进行比较分析。
Sylvia Plath, the representative of the 1960’s self-serving poet in the United States, and Emily Dickinson and Elizabeth Bishop called her the three most important women poets in the history of modern American literature. For a long time, both scholars at home and abroad who studied Plath poetry paid too much attention to the intertextual relationship between her poetry and Ted Hughes, a poet couple. Few people paid close attention to the poetry origin of Lawrence. In fact, Lawrence’s novels and poems influence the writing of Plath not only in the arrangement of poetry groups and the use of symbolism, but also in the choice of theme of poetry and the writing of poetic language. Mainly from the intertextual perspective of the works of Lawrence and Plass to explore the origin of the poetry, comparative analysis of the images of death.
