Japan’s Ministry of Education, Institute of Space Science and Technology researcher Oda Nobuji proposed Japan’s first “lunar probe” (MUSES) lunar exploration program. It will serve as a pioneer in the future of planetary exploration of Mars and Venus. Expected to launch in 1989 with Miao-S3S2. The only countries that can currently launch planetary probes are the United States and the Soviet Union. Japan’s space research following the probe of Comet Halley by “Pioneers A and B” (planets A and B) will be planetary exploration. The main purpose of the lunar probe is to acquire expertise in the determination of speed control in planetary exploration flights.
