1965年末,在全国青年作者座谈会期间,胡耀邦同志曾赞扬说:“四川出了个新刘三姐,一路唱到北京城;辽宁出了个张功升,一路讲到北京城。我们为这些可贵的新人新事鼓掌叫好!”这个张功升,就是全国劳动模范、辽宁著名的故事大王。自1961年以来,他用革命故事宣传共产主义思想,迄今,已足迹14个省市,编讲了350多个故事,讲演达3200多场,听众达38万多人。 张功升是怎样从一名普通工人逐步成长为党的宣传战线上的一名尖兵的呢?其间,经历了曲折的过程。

To date, he has traveled to 14 provinces and cities, compiled more than 350 stories, speeched more than 3200 games and listened to more than 380,000 people.
