They want to escape the shackles, from the family, marriage, but also to escape from self. From the macroscopical point of view, we can find that there are multiple themes in the novels of the writer. This article chooses many works of Monroe during different periods to summarize and discuss the theme of the tragedy. In this way, we can study and see the various problems that the writer presents in his works and the implications to be revealed.
