Many studies have shown that smoking is harmful and unprofitable. However, people are particularly concerned about the relationship between smoking and cancer. Epidemiological survey data confirms that smoking is a major factor in human lung cancer. However, the exact mechanism of cancer caused by smoking is still unclear. Many scholars have done a lot of work on this issue and believe that smoking may cause cancer related to genetic damage. Studies have shown that a large amount of mutagens, precarcinogens, and tumor-promoting factors are contained both in the particulate phase of cigarette smoke and in the gas phase. The chemical mutagenesis of cigarettes has been subjected to a large number of experimental studies over the years, and the mechanism of the carcinogenic effects of smoking has been investigated. This article plans to outline the research in this area in recent years.
