本研究调查了背景声音对中国大学英语学习者中文和英语阅读过程的影响。选取荷兰语(外语)、英语(二语)和汉语(母语)作为背景声音。采用心理语言学E-prime软件,设计使用被试自定步速逐词阅读的移动窗口阅读范式去记录阅读过程中的每个单词的反应时间。常规SPSS分析方法结果证实中文作为背景声音对中、英阅读过程干扰最大,背景声音的干扰作用集中体现在语言的音系处理层面,传统分析方法同时表明英语阅读过程中中文的音系辨识和处理也同时发生。频谱分析方法对十位被试的数据进一步分析,结果表明粉红噪音存在于三种背景声音场景下中、英阅读的每个过程。频谱分析的结果进一步证实不同背景声音下的母语和二语阅读过程在本质上具有相似性。
This study investigated the effect of background noise on Chinese college English learners’ reading process in both Chinese and English. Select Dutch (foreign language), English (second language) and Chinese (mother tongue) as the background sound. Using psycho-linguistic E-prime software, we designed a mobile window reading paradigm using subjects’ personal pace readings to record the reaction time of each word in the reading process. The results of routine SPSS analysis show that Chinese as the background noise has the greatest interference with Chinese and English reading process. The interference of background sounds is concentrated in the phonological processing of language. The traditional analysis method also shows the phonological identification and processing of Chinese in reading English It happened at the same time. The spectrum analysis method further analyzed the data of ten subjects, and the results showed that the pink noise exists in every process of Chinese and English reading in three background sound scenes. The results of spectrum analysis further confirm that the mother tongue and second language reading in different background sounds are similar in nature.
