本文对中国改革开放以来在社会经济发展过程中出现的地区经济差距扩大现象及其原因进行了分析。文章将影响地区经济差异的因素主要归结为三大类，即人力资本因素、结构因素与政策因素。利用１９９４年中国分省统计资料，通过多元回归分析，本文发现结构因素与政策因素对地区经济差距的扩大起主要作用，而人力资本的影响并不十分明显。
This article analyzes the phenomenon of the widening of the regional economic gap and its causes in the process of social economic development since China’s reform and opening up. The article will mainly affect the regional economic differences due to three main categories of factors, namely, human capital factors, structural factors and policy factors. Using the statistical data of China in 1994 and the multiple regression analysis, this paper finds that the structural and policy factors play a major role in the expansion of the regional economic disparity, while the impact of human capital is not very obvious.
