由IEEE电子器件协会和IEEE固态电路委员会联合主办的1996年国际集成电路会议(CICC’96)于5月5日至8日在美国加州圣地亚哥举行。出席会议的代表约1000人,会议发表论文113篇,内容涉及近年来有关数字、模拟和混合信号电路的技术,包括设计方法、IC的实现方法和测试方法,同时展示了专用集成电路的最新成果。开幕式上,国际著名EDA软件公司——Mentor Graphics公司的Wally Rhines先生作了“展望21世纪IC发展前景”的演说。他首先回顾了近几年电子设计的重要成就,展望了下一世纪集成电路的发展趋势。他指出,今后的10年将由“集成系统设计”所驱动,专用集成电路设计将而临“System On Siliom”的挑战,嵌入式微处理器系统的设计,PCB,MCM和BOX的设计将进一步面向系统进行。与此同时,电子产品设计要求的提高必将促使EDA工具和设计环境的进一步更新。未来产品更趋于硬件、软件结合的电子系统的设计,也促使硬软件合作技术和相应工具的发展和完善。
The 1996 International Conference on Integrated Circuits (CICC’96), co-sponsored by the IEEE Electronic Devices Association and the IEEE Solid State Circuits Committee, was held in San Diego, California from May 5 to May 8. Approximately 1,000 delegates attended the conference and 113 papers were delivered at the conference, covering the technologies for digital, analog and mixed-signal circuits in recent years, including design methods, IC implementation methods and test methods, as well as the latest achievements of application specific integrated circuits . At the opening ceremony, Mr. Wally Rhines from Mentor Graphics, a world renowned EDA software company, made a speech titled “Looking into the Future of IC Development in the 21st Century.” He first reviewed the important achievements of electronic design in recent years and looked forward to the development trend of integrated circuits in the next century. He pointed out that the next 10 years will be driven by the “integrated system design”, ASIC design will be the “System On Siliom” challenge, the design of embedded microprocessor systems, PCB, MCM and BOX design Will be further system-oriented. At the same time, the increasing demand for electronic product design will inevitably lead to the further updating of EDA tools and design environments. Future products tend to hardware and software design of electronic systems, but also to promote the development of hardware and software technology and related tools and improve.
