团龙纹将龙的形体处理为圆形,唐代常见于铜镜浮雕纹饰,宋代见诸瓷器刻画,至明清普遍运用。团龙纹饰形式感强,轮廓周正饱满,龙形完整,因此运用十分广泛。表现形式多种多样,常见有“坐龙团”、“升龙团”、“降龙团”等。团龙图案也成为明清冠服制度中地位尊贵的象征,本图正是取自明宪宗画像中的团龙图案。
