面神经瘫痪将导致受其支配的眼轮匝肌麻痹，而使该肌所司闭眼功能丧失，但该肌的拮抗肌提上睑肌和米勒氏肌的功能存在并相对亢进，因而造成患者睁眼时睑裂过大畸形、闭眼时兔眼畸形。作者在局麻下由结膜入路，距睑板上缘２ｍｍ处切断睑板上缘中部的提上睑肌和米勒氏肌，直至术中睁睑时双侧睑裂宽度大致相同为止。术后患者睁眼时双侧睑裂宽度大致相同，闭眼时兔眼畸形也有所改善，疗效满意。
