在红河哈尼族自治州的红河县,各族社员历来就有种植棕榈的传统习惯。当人们进入红河县境,只见弯弯曲曲的山道上,一个个马铃叮噹的骡马队把棕片、棕巴掌驮往购销店,彩带般的盘山公路上,满载棕片、棕制品的汽车隆隆奔驰,源源不断运往内地。来到山区,只见路边寨旁,沟沟岭岭,棕榈成林。婀娜多姿的棕榈树,亭亭如华盖,枝枝紧相连,茁壮挺拔,清翠碧绿,十分壮美。这里给人最深刻的印象是:棕榈真多呵!
