和1982年发射的Landsat—4一样,1984年3月发射的Landsat—5卫星也装备了一个实验型全球定位系统组件(GPSPAC)。该实验装置的主要目的是要确定并提高GPSPAC作为星载导航工具的性能。为了验证GPSPAC轨道解的精度,根据地基跟踪数据产生特定的Landsat—5星历并把此星历与GPSAC估计值进行比较。本文给出这种分析的结果并总结Landsat—5上GPSAC的工作情况。本文还描述了Landsat—5卫星、GPSPAC及其导航算法。
Like the Landsat-4 launched in 1982, the Landsat-5 satellite launched in March 1984 is also equipped with an experimental Global Positioning System component (GPSPAC). The main objective of this experimental setup is to identify and improve the performance of GPSPAC as an onboard navigation tool. To verify the accuracy of the GPSPAC orbital solution, a specific Landsat-5 ephemeris is generated from the foundation tracking data and compared with this ephemeris and the GPSAC estimates. This article presents the results of this analysis and summarizes the GPSAC work on Landsat-5. This paper also describes Landsat-5 satellite, GPSPAC and its navigation algorithm.
