合作学习模式下师生之间、生生之间的交流、讨论对提升学习者的批判性思维起到重要作用。高质量的写作要求作者能够批判性地阅读自己的作品和接受同伴、教师的批判性的反馈,从而更有效地发现作品中潜在的问题,以便改进和提高写作质量。合作学习模式下的英语写作教学以“批判性”思想为灵魂,以“小组学习”为重要组织形式,使英语写作教学过程真正成为交际合作、激发思维的过程。使批判性思维能力培养贯彻写作教学全过程。
