性激素水平对机体病变作用广泛而复杂。结核病的发病率在性别和年龄上的差异性，至少提示性激素与结核病的发生有一定关系。研究认为性激素对结核病的影响主要通过下调结核病患者免疫功能，因而调节性激素水平或可为临床结核病防治提供新策略。
