在渤海之滨,莱州湾畔,有一所坚持24年为农村培养技术人材的学校,这就是山东省掖县西由公社农业中学。西由农中是1958年在王贾大队技术夜校的基础上发展起来的。它经受住了各种风浪,特别是十年动乱的严峻考验,坚持下来了,并且成为办得最好的农中之一。24年来,这所农中培养了7千多名农业技术人材,为发展农业生产作出了突出贡献;也为发展农村中等职业技术教育事业提供了可贵的经验。在大力进行农村中等教育结构改革的今天,认真研究和总结西由农中的办学经验,是很有现实意义的。

It has withstood all kinds of storms, especially the harsh tests of the ten-year turmoil, has persevered and has become one of the best-performing peasants. Over the past 24 years, more than 7,000 agricultural technicians have been trained in this farmer, making outstanding contributions to the development of agricultural production and providing valuable experience in developing secondary vocational and technical education in rural areas. At the moment of vigorously carrying out the reform of rural secondary education structure, it is of great practical significance to seriously study and summarize the experience of running a school in West by farming.
