设计并制造了能够同时产生弯曲与扭转力矩的试验机,该力矩在试样的标距全长上均匀分布。弯矩与扭矩之比可在0至0.5范围内调整,试样的角度偏转由试验机控制。从反向扭转所获得的实验结果首先表明最好的表示疲劳寿命的术语是以势能方式表现的剪切——应变范围或剪切——应力幅度。有关本主题的进一步工作正在进行中。
A test machine capable of producing both bending and torsional moments is designed and manufactured that is evenly distributed throughout the gauge length of the specimen. The ratio of bending moment to torque can be adjusted from 0 to 0.5, and the angular deflection of the specimen is controlled by a testing machine. The experimental results obtained from reverse torsion first show that the best term for fatigue life is the shear-strain range or shear-stress amplitude in the form of a potential energy. Further work on this topic is in progress.
