作为共和国第七任司法部长,高昌礼刚一到任就把目光专注于如何为实现依法治国,从更广的领域和更高的层面上,全面推动和提升中国法律服务业的发展和水平上。最近几年,中国律师制度改革的进一步深化、“148”法律服务热线在全国城乡的开通、公证制度改革的全面突破、社区法律服务的兴起和法律服务队伍的建设等,都搞得有声有色。这除了需要对国家强盛的坚定追求和工作中睿智外,也与他担任过山东省委政法委书记、最高人民法院副院长,长期从事政法工作的经历有密切关系。在世界即将跨入新世纪的前夕,中国即将“入世”又成了国家工作的重中之重。带着海外读者普遍关心的中国法律服务业如何为“入世”准备这一话题,本刊记者采访了高昌礼部长。
