近年来,地下水(包括海水)中硫酸根离子,大部分用钡盐沉淀的间接络合滴定法。硫酸钡沉淀的溶解度大,为了使沉淀完全,此法需要煮沸、陈化,即使如此,也发现测定结果不稳,误差较大。经试验发现,在试液中加入适量酒精,沉淀反应速度大为加快,加入钡盐后,马上可以滴定(见下图),酒精加入量为10%(体积)左右即够,量多也没有影响。
