在唐代诗歌群星灿烂的天宇里,白居易是继李白和杜甫后升起的又一颗巨星.他继承并发展了《诗经》和汉乐府的现实主义传统,沿着杜甫的道路进一步建立了现实主义的诗歌理论.倡导了“新乐府运动”,响亮地提出了“文章合为时而著,歌诗合为事而作”的口号,一生写下了二千八百多首诗.这些诗从各个不同的侧面反映了唐代的社会生活,其中有关妇女的诗占了相当的比例.据笔者粗略统计,白氏写到妇女的诗不下百首.另外在诗人的一些奏文判辞中也涉及到妇女问题.作为一千多年前的一个封建文人,能如此关心妇女的命运,不能不引起人们的注意,故历来有不少有关这方面的评论.但解放后,关于白居易妇女诗的讨论文章并不多,就笔者所知,王拾遗同志曾于1953年7月8日、15日在《光明日报》上发表过两篇这一方面的文章,这已是四十年前的事了.妇女问题是个社会问题,透过妇女问题这个窗口,可以看到整个社会现实.白居易的妇女诗正是唐代社会生活的画卷,这对我们认识唐代的社会状况,以及唐代妇女的生活和命运,乃至整个封建社会中妇女们的生活和命运,是会有极大的帮助的.今天来说,也还有它的现实意义,本文正本着这一认识来对白居易的妇女诗作些粗浅的探讨.让我们先来了解一下诗人所处的时代.
