翻译可以看作是一种交际活动,原作者和译者之间的对话。译者的任务就是在准确理解原作者的基础上,将原作者的意思传递给第三方,即译文读者。当把翻译看作会话的一种的时候,翻译也就得遵守关于会话的基本的准则和原则。格莱斯于1967提出的会话含义理论是关于会话的准则之一,也是作为一种交际活动的翻译应遵守的准则之一。本文将以会话含义理论的四个准则来解释翻译现象。
Translation can be seen as a communicative activity, the dialogue between the original author and the translator. Translator’s task is to accurately understand the original author, based on the original author’s meaning is passed to a third party, that is, readers of the translation. When interpreting translation as a kind of conversation, the translator must follow the basic norms and principles about conversation. The theory of conversational implicature put forward by Grice in 1967 is one of the criteria concerning conversation and one of the guidelines to be followed as a translation of communicative activities. This article will explain the phenomenon of translation in four criteria of the theory of conversational meanings.
