近年来,关于王国维的“境界/意境”概念和理论出现了一种颇具颠覆性的新看法,即认为王国维的“境界/意境”概念和理论来源于西方美学,与中国传统的“境界/意境”思想没有关系。持此说者基本上回避了“境界”与“意境”的区分。本文首先分析中国传统话语中“境界”所具有的实存义、虚存义和比喻义,并重点指出其中的比喻义属于哲学的维度,是“意境”一词不具备的;其次解读王国维在“境界”与“意境”两个概念上的选择与区分,并对其后期使用“意境”一词的难题作出新的解读;最后着重对王国维境界论的单一“西来”说作出回应。
