83—12系采用激素处理湖北高粱稻19×薏苡选育而成。经几年多点试种,综合性状表现较优,1985年被评为全省优质米品种(品系)之一。经测定,糙米率80.5％,精米率70.3％,整米率60％,米粒长度6.1毫米,垩白一级,透明,糊化温度7级,直链淀粉含量26.3％,蛋白质含量8.29％,食味好。1983—1984年参加全省晚稻联合田间水平抗性和产量鉴定,1983年10个点平均亩产775.2斤,居首位;1984年10个点平均亩产773.5斤,居二位。比赣南晚13号增产13.3％,比754增产2.89％。中抗白叶枯病、褐稻虱、白背飞虱,抗稻瘟病。全生育期128—132天,株高90厘米,分蘖力强,生长青秀,转
