Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both.
And be one traveler,long I stood,
And looked down one as far as I could.
Then took the other,as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there,
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black,
Oh,I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh,
Somewhere ages and ages hence:

Robert Frost(罗伯特·福洛斯特,1874-1963),美国最著名诗人之一。福洛斯特获得诗名之前,时而务农,时而到中学教希腊语和拉丁语。1913年,他出版了第一部诗集。福洛斯特的诗歌备受读者喜爱,原因之一是没有受过多少学校教育的人都能看懂,他坚持使用日常语言,描写自己观察入微的日常事件。福洛斯特的许多诗歌反映了他与大自然的贴近,通过自然来表达一种象征意义。福洛斯特1915年所作的《未选之路》是最著名的一首诗。
