Metal Progress poses the following speculative questions to the providers and users of some heat treatment technologies: (1) What do you think of the developments in the 1980s regarding equipment, controls, gauges, atmospheres and quenchants? (2 ) What do you expect the vision for this era to evolve? Simply put, the vision of 27 companies (15 users, 12 suppliers) participating in the panel discussion is that in the 1980s the trend in the industry would be to boost the vacuum, Induction heating, laser, electron beam and ion nitriding process more widely used, fluid bed heat treatment will also receive due attention.
