神话作为民间文学的一种形式,具有天生的民族性;研究不同民族的神话,是理解一个民族文化内涵和思想根源的重要途径,深入发掘其中的可贵精神和优秀品格,更是能为传统文化增色添彩.中国虽然是一个汉文化占据核心地位的文明古国,但现存的少数民族不仅数量众多,而且早已与汉族一起构成了难舍难分的中华民族大家庭.这份和谐与团结也离不开长久以来政府与学者对于少数民族文化、生活的关注.由文日焕、王宪昭著的《中国少数民族神话概论》一书,便是针对少数民族的神话这一中华传统文化不可或缺的元素展开的综合性论述.
