OBJECTIVE: This study aims to demonstrate the antihyperglycemic and analgesic effects of methanol extract of Tricholoma matsutake, a traditional medicinal plant in Bangladesh. Methods: The experiment is divided into two independent parts. In the study of the anti-hyperglycemic effect of the extract of Tricholoma matsutake, 36 mice were divided into 6 groups with 6 mice in each group, which were orally administered with different doses of Trichosanthin methanol extract, hypoglycemic glibenclamide Urea and 10 mL / kg 1% Tween 80 solvent. After 1 h, mice in each group were orally administered with 2 g / kg glucose. After 2 h, the blood glucose level of all the mice was measured and compared. In order to observe the analgesic effect of the extract of Trichosanthes root methanol extract, another 42 mice were divided into 7 groups with 6 mice in each group, and each group was orally administered with 10 mL / kg 1% Tween 80 solvent at different doses Hypoglycemic response was induced by intraperitoneal injection of 10 mL / kg of 1% acetic acid to all mice after 1 hour of either methanol extract or 200 and 400 mg / kg analgesic aspirin. Five minutes after the writhing response was induced, each mouse was observed for 10 minutes and the number of writhing was recorded. Results: Compared with the control group, the blood glucose levels of four groups of mice fed 50, 100, 200 and 400 mg / kg methanolic extract of methanol were significantly decreased (P <0.05). When mice were orally administered 400 mg / kg of methanolic extract, blood glucose levels dropped the most. Mice with oral glyburide 10 mg / kg decreased blood glucose by 48.6%. Compared with the control group, methanol extract also showed significant analgesic effect (P <0.05). When the dose of 400 mg / kg, the number of writhing in mice was 40.9%, while oral administration of aspirin 200 mg / kg, the number of writhing in mice was 49.0%. Conclusion: Bangladesh folk medicine has a significant effect in the treatment of diabetes and pain. Its anti-hyperglycemia and analgesic effect of methanol extract deserves further study in order to develop new compounds and effective drugs based on this plant.
